Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations by our friends in Kentucky, US

FROM GEDDY: For Thanksgiving we usually go to our grandparents house. My grandma fixes turkey, mashed potatoes, ham, coleslaw, cakes, and other foods. Lots of my family come over and we celebrate the first harvest the Pilgrims and had back in the 1520's. One reason I like Thanksgiving is because of all of the food.Well that's pretty much all my family does at Thanksgiving.

FROM SCOTT: Our Thanksgiving traditions vary slightly each year, but it remains for the most part, the same each year. We have both sides of our family to celebrate with, so we have one dinner on thanksgiving day and another that weekend. The meals are usually the tradional meal of turkey, potatoes, cranberry sauce, rolls, etc. Somtimes however, some strange dishes show up, like venison stew, fruited jell-o's, not to mention we once we had an all mexican food thanksgiving. After we eat we all sit back and relax the older men watch football, the woman dont like to watch football so they talk and play board-games. The kids go outside to play or sit down with toys. Its more of a day to relax and enjoy family than to do anything. Its not the most exciting, but we enjoy the time with our family and the lots of food.

FROM ASHTON: Christmas is a great time of year. We celebrate by having many parties with family, friends, and others. Christmas is about being together with the ones you love, but is also about Jesus Christ our Savior coming to earth to save us. Without Him, there would be no reason to celebrate! Have a merry Christmas!
