Oasis by Carlos

Oasis is a rock band from Manchester formed by Liam Gallagher (vocals), Noel Gallagher (guitar), Gem Archer (rhythm guitar) and Andy Bell (bass). The Gallagher brothers are the band's leading songwriters (Noel has written the 80 % of Oasis' songs) and the only continual members. Since 1994's Definitely Maybe they've sold over 50 million records all around the world. They've won about 30 prizes and in 2007 they won the BRIT Award for their outstanding contribution to music.
Gallagher brothers have been really criticized because they've had a “rock-star” lifestyle having drugs and fighting among themselves.
After their their three first records (Definitely Maybe(1994), (What's the Story) Morning Glory(1995) and Be Here Now(1997)) they lost his fame because their next two CD's (Standing on the Shoulder of Giants(2000) and Heathen Chemistry(2002)) were really
worst and they thought more in other things (three of the four members, they got divorced). Their two last albums (Don't Believe the Truth (2004) and Dig Out Your Soul (2008) have been really good criticized and have sold about 5 million records each one.
Their strongest influence are The Beatles and especially John Lennon songs. Their most famous songs are Wonderwall, Supersonic, Rock'n'Roll Star, Slide Away, Live Forever and The Importance of Being Idle and their last single from Dig Out Your Soul has been I'm Outta Time (released on 1st December 2008)
