Franckfort by Victoria Walker's students

Frankfort is the capital city of the state of Kentucky. Its population is a few hundred thousand people. Frankfort is a busy location because of all the state government workers, but it is also quite tranquil and low-key. Some might even say it's a bit boring. There are, however, a few things to do: we have a bowling alley (that tends to attract smokers!); one movie theatre; a couple of outlet or strip malls; several city parks with baseball fields, golf courses, swimming pools, and even a bark park; many fast food and dine-in restaurants offering Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Mexican, Thai, and American cuisine (we do not have even one restaurant that is Spanish!); many churches of varying demoninations (and only one Catholic church); lots of gas stations, banks, and small businesses. In our city there is a Wal-mart store (where you can buy anything at a discount!), a K-mart, and several chain grocery stores called Kroger. There is no public transportation here other than taxis. When we are looking for "fun" we usually go to Lexington, Louisville, or Cincinatti-nearby cities that have more entertainment options. Some of us live out in the rural areas of Frankfort or in smaller, close-by cities, but the "school" where we co-op and learn Spanish together is at a church in Frankfort. Hope this gives you a good idea of where we live and what it's like! Blessings from Kentucky!
